Montenegro adopts law - Albanians allowed to publicly use and display their national symbols
With 41 votes for the Montenegrin Assembly, it approved the draft law on the use and public display of national symbols.

Members of the ruling coalition voted for it, with the exception of Andrija Popovic (LP) who did not vote, while opposition MPs were not present in the chamber.

This law provides the free use of national symbols

Minister for Human and Minority Rights Mehmed Zenka said adopting the law would strengthen Montenegro's multinational value.

As he stressed, the adoption of the bill will strengthen all of Montenegro's positive achievements in the last two decades.

Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Genci Nimanbegu, said that national symbols are part of fundamental human rights, as a right of expression.

He said that no western European democracy is punished for using the flag.

The European Union has the free use of flags because it is a fundamental human right," Nimanbegu said.
