A lawsuit against Vulin because of his speech of hate against Albanians

The Chairman of the Albanian National Council in the Presevo Valley, Ragmi Mustafa, has filed a lawsuit against the Serbian Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin because of his hate speech he uses against Albanians.

Mustafa told to the Serbian news agency Beta that he filed a lawsuit on June 25 at the Supreme Court in Belgrade, after Vulin, several times, "has publicly called the Albanians 'shiptar'" and that "with a scornful tone".

He said that for the Albanian National Council it is unacceptable that the language of hate, which is hated by a minority and which comes from a Defense Minister, should be considered as an individual approach.

"This mentality speaks to Serbia's current government and to official of Serbia," Mustafa said as the Radio Free Europe Radio Service for the Balkans reports.

"The respect for the minorities is a legal and constitutional obligation of the Government and the respect and acceptance of the other is a prerequisite for a democratic society," Mustafa said.

Similar languages against the Albanians have also been used by other Serbian officials. The Director of the Office for Kosovo in the Government of Serbia, Marko Djuric, in an official communiqué issued during the second week of April, called Albanians with the term 'shiptari'.
