After the scandal with the publication of the video, where the Austrian Deputy Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache is willing to give to a Russian oligarch support for public tenders, if his party - FPÖ - would be part of the government after the elections, and this in exchange of financial support, came his resignation.

Earlier Kurz had ruled out the possibility of further co-operation with the Austrian deputy mayor and free party leader FPÖ, Heinz-Christian Strache, whose resignation was expected.

In a sected video of 2017, Heinz-Christian Strache is shown ready to give support to a Russian oligarch for public tenders in case the FPÖ would be part of the government after the elections, in exchange for financial support.

The video distributed by "Spiegel" and "Süddeutsche Zeitung" speaks of an oligarch's idea to buy the Austrian newspaper with the highest circulation "Kronen Zeitung" to support FPÖ before the election. Austrian Prosecution has started investigations. In the last election FPÖ reached about 26% of the total vote.

The question is whether Chancellor Kurz will continue the coalition with FPÖ or will seek new elections.

While It is worth mentioning here that about this scandal has also reacted the Albanian politics, at least in an interesting case, where the MP of the Socialist Party Taulant Balla has compared this scandal with the leader of the Albanian opposition, Lulzim Basha, who received $ 1 million from a Russian company and now is under investigation.

"Austria FPÖ Leader Strache resigned after footage with a potential Russian backer in exchange for political support.
#Albania DP Leader Basha profited over 1M from a Russian owned Shell Company to boost his Right-Wing Party in DC. Basha is under investigation in US, GB and AL." Balla writes on his Twitter.
