Historical day for Kosovo. The newest state of Europe has now its army. Some years after declaring the independence, Kosovo was keen to end up making wise decisions in the service of the country and strengthening the security.

The Kosovo Assembly adopted three laws enabling the transformation of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) into an army. It is about the Law on the Ministry of Defense, that of the Kosovo Security Force and the Law on Service in the Kosovo Security Force. All three of these laws were endorsed in principle in November, then reviewed in parliamentary committees and are now awaiting final approval by the Assembly.

The law on the Ministry of Defense was approved with 106 votes in favor, no counter. In the hall were all parliamentary groups, besides the Serbian List.

The complete transformation of the KSF into an army is a process that can last 7-10 years.

A few days ago 25 military vehicles "Humvee" came from US.

The KSF will also get 26 other Humvee vehicles as US Army donations.

On the day when the Kosovo Assembly is expected to adopt Army laws, many Serbia's flags are placed in North Mitrovica.
