After completing the operation "Vin: Number" where a total of six trafficked vehicles and two motors were seized, Tirana Police discovered the mechanism how these vehicles entered in our country.
According to information obtained from the Division of Illicit Trafficking, these cars are seized after they have resulted with false documents and switch chassis number, and then sold to Albanian citizens.
The classic mechanism of entry of vehicles in Albania is done by foreign nationals, who get their vehicle and do mainly land route from Montenegro or from border crossings in our country.The purpose of foreign nationals was the trafficking of these vehicles by partnering with people who illegally deal with trafficking and falsification of documents and finding buyers.
Once the cars entered in Albania these foreigners jointly with other Albanian citizens, specialized in forgery of seals and stamps, acts with other people by enabling the change of the number of chassis and electronic number that is in the central package of the vehicle (Centralina).
At the moment that was possible the intervention in the vehicle chassis number, the foreign nationals return to their country of origin and denounce their vehicle as lost or stolen.
The other procedures are followed by Albanian collaborators by alienating the vehicle data.
After the change of chassis number and other data, they register these vehicles with different names as it was an Albanian buyer and thus continuing further on the basis of standard procedures for obtaining ownership of the vehicle.
Having cleared the car then the physical control continues, then the the vehicle registration in D.R.SH.T. RR (Regional Directorate of Road Transport Services).
Once all these procedures were performed foreign nationals in their country denounced that had lost the car in such a way as to benefit from FCI that had their car in case of theft.
Based on the information obtained by Tirana police in cooperation with the Regional Directorate of Road Transport Services this method was discovered.
Police appeals to every citizen that before buying a car to take into account the reference price of the car they want in a way that will not be deceived by traffickers,
