People In Epirus Have Spoken Mostly in Albanian Language

 This document represents some interesting data on the population in Epirus in 1878's. 


The data presented in what Sami Frashëri called "Epirus Statistics", is published in "Our Effort", Vol IV, No. 5-6. 


According to this article, in Epirus in 1878's have lived in total 632,983 persons, of whom 479,238 persons were Albanian, and while 120,489 people have spoken Greek.


In the census, in fact, the division is made ​​based on religion and not on the basis of language.

According to data presented by our Renaissance, Sami Frashëri, in Epirus have lived 329.696 Muslims and 303,287 Christians, including Jews.
