Minister of Foreign Affairs, Enver Hoxhaj believes that the main reason why there hasn’t been a decision to lift the visa regime with Kosovo, relates to the fact that May 25 is the election date for the European Parliament and EU institutions.

“I’m sure that until the end of the year, there will be a decision and in 2015, visa regime will be lifted. You have also seen Samuel Zbogar say 5 days ago that the decision will soon be taken. The decision will be taken this year, in 2015 the visas will be lifted. The standards have been met”, declared Hoxhaj.

Meanwhile, as far as the accession of Kosovo in the UNO is concerned, minister Hoxhaj has said that a study has been made, which will soon be presented and which forecasts that this will happen before 2020.

“We will make maximum efforts to increase the number of recognitions, to adhere to different UNO agencies. So far, we have applied in several organizations. We will strengthen our relations with the EU. The endorsement of SAA shows the strengthening  of the international positioning of Kosovo and parallel to this, we must address several issues in the talks with Serbia. I’m sure that before 2020, Kosovo will be a full member of UNO”.

As far as parliamentary elections in the country are concerned and how are they seen by the world, minister Hoxhaj said that Kosovo will hold free and democratic elections. “What Kosovo needs is political stability”, said he.
