German Pensioner adopts two adult Albanians to save them from blood feud

Pensioner Horst Kress has decided to make an extraordinary step in his life, he will adopt two brothers from Albania, who for 16 years have been on the run because of the fear of a family blood feud, n-land.de writes.

Their adoption from the pensioner from Winkelhaidi, Germany, seems to be their last  escape from the dilemma: since the German State does not accept the blood feud as a basis for asylum, two brothers aged 28 and 38 were forced to leave Germany.

And in Italy they are in blood feud with a family, were the older brother was slain by them, reports albinfo.ch.

Selfo (so called the injured) since then is staying in a hospital in Milan where doctors thanks to an emergency surgery saved his life.

Two brothers have been living in an asylum center in Winkelhaid from April 2015 to March 2016. Here they were safe, meanwhile in Milan they were attacked several times.

Horst Kress from the circle of supporters of refugees, found very soon the common language with the two brothers. This happened despite the fact that he, like them, speaks fluent Italian. When the decision came for them to get back to Albania, they decided to return to Milan.

They were in danger also in Italy, but much less than in Albania, where the were waiting their assassination.

Their father during the shooting of a traditional wedding in 2000 has accidentally shot his neighbor. Since then, the injured family is seeking revenge. For this reason Selfo and Valerian are on the run for 16 years.

In these circumstances, the only option to ensure a fair stay in Germany for the two brothers has remained the adoption.

The German pensioner Kress, who worked as a lecturer and psychologist, has announced his decision in Hersbruck court. But he will have to prove his decision and send it to Milan, where together with the two "sons" of his adopted state also must certify to notariatin italian. When all these are resolved, the family from Winkelhaidi  hopes to become with two  adult "sons".
