Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has shared with his followers on Facebook the news of oil discovering at Mount of Shpirag in Berat. Berisha writes that this discovery enjoys all Albanians and expresses congratulations "that other sources of oil and gas are to be found, and Albania, which still has the biggest oil field of the continent, becomes one of the main countries in hydrocarbon production in Europe."
"Good news comes from Shell-Petromanas. After three years of comprehensive study and successful drilling of Shpirag 2 well, it is confirmed the discovery of an important new high quality oil source (light fuel oil) with an initial capacity of 1300 barrels per 24 hours. This 60 million euro investment came to an area in which a giant petroleum had previously spent, but unsuccessfully, about $ 100 million," Berisha says."Studies with the highest technology tools and especially the extremely advanced drilling technology made possible a significant success. The company envisions a series of other drilling in the area around Shpiragu and around it."
