SPAK Seizes Villa Linked to Former Rama Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku

Albania’s Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) has seized another villa in Palasë as part of its investigation involving former Deputy Prime Minister and Infrastructure Minister Belinda Balluku.

The property, located in “Nukli 27” in Palasë, includes 478 square meters of land and a building covering 142.6 square meters.

According to SPAK, the investigation has uncovered new evidence in a criminal proceeding involving alleged violations of equal treatment in eight public tenders, passive corruption and money laundering.

SPAK alleges that Balluku, while serving as Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, worked with officials of the contracting authority to create unfair advantages for companies involved in the tender for the construction of Tirana’s Outer Ring Road, Lot 7.

The prosecution also alleges that the property was acquired and concealed through individuals connected to Balluku, including former footballer Igli Tare.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations are subject to the judicial process.
