Amir Rrahmani Leaves Kosovo: “I Won’t Return While These People Lead the Federation”

 A major shock has hit the Kosovo national team. Amir Rrahmani has announced his departure from the national side after a decade of service, including seven years as captain and leader of Kosovo’s defense.

 Amir Rrahmani has stepped down from the Kosovo national team after a decade of service, citing a lack of competence among federation leaders and alleged coordinated attacks against him.

The defender’s decision did not come quietly. Rrahmani has publicly explained his reasons for leaving, directing serious accusations at the leadership of the Football Federation of Kosovo.

The Kosovo captain made it clear that he will no longer wear the national team shirt as long as the current leadership remains in charge of the federation.

Rrahmani criticized the way the federation has been managed, claiming that the national team’s ongoing problems have not been resolved because of a lack of competence among its leaders.

But his strongest accusation concerns what he describes as a sustained campaign against him from within the institution.

“What did I get in return? Continuous and coordinated attacks for more than two years from those who should have been protecting us,” Rrahmani wrote.

The statement makes clear just how deep the conflict has become between one of the most important figures in Kosovo’s football history and the leadership of the federation.

Rrahmani’s departure represents a major blow to Kosovo’s national team, both on the field and at an institutional level.
