Nazmi Shahini, also known by the surname Drazhi, has surrendered to Albanian police after being wanted by the Special Anti-Corruption Structure (SPAK) as part of an investigation into an alleged international drug trafficking network.

His arrest was carried out following a detention order issued in absentia by the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime, which had imposed the security measure of pre-trial detention.
SPAK: Group Allegedly Trafficked 8.1 Tonnes of Drugs
According to SPAK, Shahini is suspected of being a member of a structured criminal group that allegedly operated during 2020 and 2021.
Prosecutors claim the network was involved in trafficking a total of 8.1 tonnes of narcotics, including cocaine and cannabis, through an international smuggling operation.
The alleged trafficking routes stretched from Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Spain, and Morocco to several European countries, including Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, and other destinations across Europe.
Investigation Into Organised Crime Continues
Authorities have not released further details regarding Shahini's role within the alleged criminal organisation or whether additional arrests are expected.
The case remains under investigation by SPAK as prosecutors continue efforts to dismantle international drug trafficking networks operating between Latin America, North Africa, and Europe.
As with all criminal proceedings, the allegations remain subject to judicial review, and the suspect is presumed innocent unless proven guilty by a final court decision.
