VLORË, Albania – Dozens of Israeli tourists staying at Hotel Vlora Priam in the coastal city of Vlora were hospitalized after a suspected poisoning incident that left several guests experiencing severe symptoms, including body tremors, vomiting, physical weakness, confusion, and loss of consciousness.

The incident was reported by Israeli media, which published accounts from tourists describing their experience and raising concerns about the response from the hotel and Albanian authorities following the event.
However, the cause of the incident has not yet been officially confirmed, and authorities have not released a final report determining what caused the tourists’ symptoms.
Tourists Report Sudden Health Problems During the Night
Among those affected was Racheli, a resident of Kfar Saba, Israel, who was vacationing in Albania with her children, sister, and other family members.
According to her account published by Israeli media outlet Mako, the situation began during the night when her young daughter complained that she could not move her legs.
Racheli said that shortly afterward she also began feeling unwell.
“I went to see what was happening, and immediately afterward I started feeling bad. I felt an unusual sensation and pain throughout my body, then I started vomiting. My sister tried to help me, but she also began shaking,” she said.
She described the situation as rapidly worsening, with several family members losing control of their movements.
“We reached a point where we could no longer walk. We had strong tremors, lost control of our bodies, and felt as if we were in a complete fog. We could not function,” she told the Israeli media.
Guests Seek Emergency Assistance
According to the tourists’ accounts, some family members lost consciousness and sought help from the hotel reception.
Racheli said they were confused and unable to properly respond to the situation.
“We were very disoriented and could barely control ourselves. We asked for a doctor and called my older son, who was staying on another floor. When he arrived, he found us on the floor.”
She added that her son saw ambulances outside the hotel and many other guests gathered outside their rooms.
Unconfirmed Claims Regarding Possible Cause
Some tourists have expressed suspicions that the symptoms may have been related to a possible nitrogen leak from the hotel’s air-conditioning system.
However, this claim has not been confirmed by official authorities, and no evidence has yet been publicly presented linking the incident to the hotel’s ventilation or cooling systems.
Investigations are expected to determine whether the cause was related to food, environmental factors, technical problems, or another source.
Authorities Awaited to Clarify Incident
The incident has attracted attention in both Albania and Israel due to the number of tourists affected and the severity of the reported symptoms.
At this stage, neither Hotel Vlora Priam nor Albanian authorities have published a final official report regarding the cause of the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing, while affected tourists and their families are waiting for answers about what caused the sudden health emergency during their holiday in Albania.
