DIVJAKË, Albania – Albanian police have dismantled an alleged illegal gambling operation in the town of Divjakë during a law enforcement action codenamed "Game Over."

The operation was carried out by specialists from the Economic Crime Investigation Section in cooperation with officers from the Divjakë Police Station. Authorities conducted inspections at several premises suspected of being used for unlawful gambling activities, leading to the discovery of an establishment allegedly operating illegal betting services through computers.
Police arrested the owner of the premises, identified by the initials A. Ç., 52, after investigators alleged that gambling activities were being organized at his business in the village of Karavasta e Re, Divjakë, using computers and mobile phones.
A second suspect, E. Ç., 35, who worked as a waiter at the establishment, was also arrested. According to police, an examination of his mobile phone revealed access to websites similar to those used for sports betting.
Investigators further stated that E. Ç. had been employed illegally, as he had not been registered with the relevant state authorities.
During the operation, officers seized five computer units, one DVR recording device, one laptop, and five mobile phones as material evidence.
The procedural materials have been forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Fier, which will continue the legal proceedings. The allegations remain under investigation.
