In the center, a white private jet sits parked on an asphalt runway. Descending the plane's stairs is a male fugitive in a light blue blazer, shorts, and handcuffs, flanked and escorted forward by four uniformed police officers wearing dark blue short-sleeved shirts, caps, and trousers. Superimposed over the sky is a large, bold white title reading "Major Blow to Organized Crime." Below the text, a blue and gray world map features a golden scale of justice connected by glowing arches to a bright red silhouette map of Albania, which is positioned next to a pair of open metallic handcuffs and a waving flag of the United Arab Emirates. A large red flag of Albania with its black double-headed eagle waves on the right, while a document stamped "EXTRADITION" with an official circular seal sits on the far left, framed by official state police badges in the bottom corners.

The individuals were subject to international arrest warrants and are wanted by Albanian authorities for alleged involvement in criminal activities including drug trafficking, cybercrime, and money laundering.

According to the Albanian State Police, the extraditions are being carried out through ongoing cooperation between the Department for International Relations at the General Directorate of State Police and their counterparts in the United Arab Emirates.

The individuals scheduled for extradition are:

  • Kristo Qirici, also known as Jetmir Hoxha and Jetmir Qirici;
  • Shkelzen Kraja;
  • Ilir Lazri, also known as Ilir Sula;
  • Aleks Pepaj, also known as Shkelqim Pepaj;
  • Devit Patrut, also known as Elidon Skendaj, Devid Boraj, and Fatmir Pepaj;
  • Merxhan Celiku.

Major Blow Against Organized Crime

The extradition of the six suspects represents one of the most notable recent transfers of Albanian fugitives from the Gulf region. In recent years, Dubai has become a frequent destination for individuals sought by Balkan law enforcement agencies, prompting increased international cooperation aimed at locating and returning wanted persons to face justice.

Albanian authorities have intensified efforts to pursue individuals accused of serious criminal offenses abroad, particularly those linked to organized criminal networks operating across multiple countries.

Investigations to Continue in Albania

Upon arrival in Albania, the suspects are expected to be transferred to the relevant judicial authorities, where they will face ongoing criminal proceedings connected to the charges for which they were internationally wanted.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the specific investigations, but officials describe the operation as another important step in strengthening international law enforcement cooperation and combating transnational organized crime.

The extraditions underscore the growing effectiveness of cross-border police collaboration between Albania and the United Arab Emirates, particularly in cases involving high-profile fugitives and organized criminal activity.
