25-Year-Old from Staro Nagoričane Indicted for 4 Murders in Kumanovo, Alleged Necrophilic Motive Revealed by Prosecutors

The Public Prosecutor's Office in Kumanovo has formally filed an indictment against a 25-year-old man from Staro Nagoričane, accusing him of four counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder in a series of attacks that allegedly took place between January 2025 and February 2026.

According to prosecutors, the suspect is charged under Article 123 of North Macedonia's Criminal Code for intentionally taking multiple lives. If convicted, he could face a prison sentence of at least 10 years or life imprisonment.

The indictment follows an extensive investigation during which prosecutors gathered evidence and expert assessments regarding the alleged crimes. Authorities claim the suspect targeted women living alone in rural areas of the Kumanovo region.

The first alleged murder occurred during the night of January 5–6, 2025, in the village of Klečovce, where prosecutors say the suspect entered the home of an elderly woman and fatally assaulted her while she slept.

Investigators allege that a second woman was killed under similar circumstances between June 5 and June 7, 2025, in the village of Dragomance.

A third incident took place on July 22, 2025, in the village of Čellopek, where prosecutors say the suspect attempted to kill a woman but fled after she called out for her son.

Authorities further allege that another murder was committed between January 17 and January 18, 2026, in Staro Nagoričane. Prosecutors claim the victim was a woman who lived alone and was attacked in a manner similar to previous cases.

A fourth murder allegedly occurred between February 5 and February 6, 2026, in Čellopek, involving another elderly female victim.

The final incident referenced in the indictment took place on February 9, 2026, also in Čellopek. Prosecutors say the suspect attempted to kill another woman but abandoned the attack after being startled by a noise.

The Public Prosecutor has also requested that the Basic Court in Kumanovo extend the detention measure previously imposed on the accused while judicial proceedings continue.

The case is expected to draw significant public attention due to the severity of the allegations and the number of victims involved. However, under the law, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
