The incident took place around 10:35 AM in neighborhood no. 13, Durrës, during a moment when the child was bathing in the water. According to initial reports, the minor accidentally drowned.
The victim was originally from Tirana, and had been at the beach when the tragedy occurred.
Emergency services were alerted shortly after the incident, but despite the response, the child could not be saved.
Local authorities and a police investigative team are currently working to fully clarify the circumstances surrounding the drowning, including environmental conditions and other contributing factors at the time of the incident.
