 The Centralized Procurement Operator in Albania has announced the winner of a major public contract worth 210 million lekë (approx. €2.1 million) for the construction of a training complex serving operational and special forces within the prison system.

The project, originally budgeted with a limit of 296 million lekë (about €3 million), will see development of a multi-facility site that includes a shooting range (poligon), an indoor gym (palestra), and outdoor sports areas designed to support physical and tactical training for security personnel. 

Key Features of the Training Complex

• Location: A site within the General Directorate of Prisons, on Zef Serembe Street in Tirana.

• Training Facilities:

– A state-of-the-art shooting range with advanced training technology for defensive and security exercises. 

– A multifunctional gym and fitness centre with equipment for strength, conditioning, functional training, and aerobic exercise. 

– Outdoor sports fields and recreational areas. 

• Support Spaces: Auxiliary facilities will include classrooms, sleeping quarters, kitchens, and other services to support training programs for up to 100 personnel. 

• Campus Design: The complex will include both indoor and outdoor spaces, landscaped green areas, walking paths, and modern facilities to enhance training and wellbeing.

Officials describe the project as a strategic investment in security infrastructure, highlighting its importance in improving preparedness, physical readiness, and operational skills among specialized units within Albania’s security framework.
