 Recent heavy rains across Albania have led to significant flooding, landslides, and high river levels, causing major disruptions in multiple regions. The Ministry of Defense has reported that the most affected areas include Durrës, Lezhë, Gjirokastër, Vlorë, Berat, Dibër, and Korçë, where emergency interventions are underway to restore road access, repair bridges, reinforce embankments, and evacuate affected residents.

Durrës County

In Sukth, heavy machinery is clearing blocked water channels, while in Ishëm, teams are working to reopen roads blocked by landslides. Efforts in Bubq, Mazhë, and Mallkuç focus on restoring flooded areas and supporting residents. In Thumanë, authorities are cleaning main canals and reinforcing embankments to prevent further flooding.

Lezhë County

In Shënkoll, the Vaini embankment crack is being urgently repaired with heavy equipment and boats deployed by the Armed Forces to prevent floods in Bregu i Matës. Shëngjin saw a coordinated effort using 10 military personnel, 3 vehicles, 3 water pumps, and 11 municipal workers to remove water from homes, hotels, and public spaces. Road clearing and bridge repairs continue in Kurbin and Mirditë, with emergency teams assisting residents threatened by landslides.

Kukës County

Contractors are clearing rocks and debris from national roads to maintain traffic flow. In Ujmisht and Zapod, blocked roads are being reopened, while in Has, damaged bridges are under assessment.

Shkodër County

In Shalë, the Theth–Ndërlysaj road segment has reopened, while work continues on the Ndërlysaj–Breg-Lumi section, which remains affected by landslides.

Gjirokastër County

Authorities are clearing the Suhë–Poliçan route after road collapse in Libohovë. In Dropull, emergency teams manage water flow and restore electricity, while in Memaliaj, repairs continue on the Allkomemaj–Tepelenë road. Water levels in some areas of Gjirokastër are actively monitored.

Vlorë County

Evacuations continue for families affected by the Kalasë river overflow, while roads connecting villages are being cleared. In Finiq, emergency teams remove water and support displaced families. Maliq and Kolonjë focus on repairing landslide damage, and the Rotë reservoir is closely monitored as water levels rise.

Dibër County

Clearing operations are ongoing in Dibër and Klos for rivers that have overflowed, protecting vulnerable homes. In Mat, over 40 personnel with specialized equipment are reopening damaged roads, evacuating families, and managing floods in schools and residences. Rural roads in Dërjan, Rukaj, Macukull, and Lis are being restored.
