In the capital, Tirana, strong gusts of wind led to multiple incidents, leaving four people hospitalized. The injured include a 64-year-old man and three women aged 55, 49, and 37. They suffered head injuries after being struck by debris during the storm. In total, 23 individuals sought medical assistance. Power Outages in Durrës
The storm also triggered electricity cuts in several areas of Durrës. The coastal zones of Gjiri i Lalzit, Hamallaj, Manza, and Xhafzotaj were left without power after damage to a key 110 kW transmission line. Repair crews are currently working to restore supply.

Further south, in Gjirokastër and nearby Tepelenë, the storm caused significant disruption. At the tourist site of “Uji i Ftohtë,” a large plane tree collapsed under the force of the wind, crushing two parked cars. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall flooded several road segments, creating traffic difficulties.

Authorities reported that the fallen trees included several pines weakened by past wildfires, unable to withstand the strong winds. The incident temporarily paralyzed road traffic until fire services intervened to clear the area.

Authorities Urge Caution

Despite the immediate response, officials warn that risks remain. Dozens of damaged trees still stand along key roadways, posing a danger to vehicles and pedestrians. Local authorities have urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel, remain vigilant, and follow safety guidelines until weather conditions stabilize.

Meteorological forecasts suggest that heavy rain and strong winds will continue into the coming hours, keeping emergency services on standby across the country.
