Albania–Serbia Match Sparks Record Fan Interest and Tight Controls

The Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) has reaffirmed its commitment to a fair, open, and equal process for all fans eager to witness the highly anticipated clash between Albania and Serbia at the “Air Albania Stadium” on June 7. The match is expected to deliver an electrifying atmosphere, and the Federation is taking significant steps to ensure that genuine supporters are the ones filling the stands.

The ticket application window was open from May 15 until 8:00 PM on May 30. Fans from both inside and outside Albania were eligible to apply for up to four tickets each, a move aimed at ensuring equal access for all Albanian supporters worldwide, according to albinfo.ch.

Between May 31 and June 2, an electronic lottery is being held to randomly select successful applicants. This method, praised for its fairness and transparency, ensures that no favoritism plays a role in the ticket distribution. Winners will receive an official email containing a personal link to proceed with the ticket purchase.

The response has been overwhelming, with over 200,000 applications submitted—far exceeding expectations. In light of this unprecedented interest, strict security and verification measures have been implemented to eliminate duplicate entries, fake accounts, and speculative applications.

To prevent ticket misuse or reselling, each ticket will be personalized with the buyer's full name. At the stadium entrance, the State Police will verify each attendee’s identity against their ticket using official identification documents.

FSHF has emphasized that this system is designed to curb abusive practices such as bulk purchases via international platforms and illegal resales through unofficial channels. The Federation is resolute in its mission to protect fans and ensure that every ticket ends up in the hands of those who truly want to be present at the match.

This approach mirrors the ticketing model used by UEFA for major European matches, including the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, and European Championships. In these events, electronic lotteries are also employed to manage high demand fairly and transparently.

In adopting these standards, FSHF continues to demonstrate its dedication to integrity, fan engagement, and world-class event management.
