Mikail Zorin, a Russian citizen, who along with two others breached the perimeter of the Arms Factory in Gramsh in August 2022, has been left in prison. A hearing was held today, where it was learned that Zorin, through his lawyer, Isuf Shehu, had made a request to change the security measure, but this request was rejected by the black robes, local media say.

The defense argued that keeping the Russian citizen in prison on remand was an extreme measure, given that he has been in custody for 9 months. However, faced with this request, the Court decided to reject the defense's request and accept the prosecution's request.

"We requested a review of the security measure, we requested information from the prosecution, and from the relationship we had, we found that all investigative actions had been completed, the evidence had been taken, so we thought that the court should revoke the security measure or change it. The Court decided to reject the defense's request and accept the prosecution's request," said lawyer Isuf Shehu at the end of the court session.

Mikhail Zorin, along with Svetlana Timofeeva and Ukrainian Fedir Alapatov, were arrested on the night of August 20 last year in the town of Gramsh, inside the arms factory in the city, after being spotted by 2 soldiers, filming the inside of the factory. To avoid arrest, one of them attacked soldiers Ardian Xhaka and Aldi Bici with a paralyzing spray, without endangering their lives.

It should be noted that one month ago, the Court rejected Russia's request for the extradition of the 33-year-old Russian, Timofeeva, accepting the latter's request to stay in Albania.
