WB to finance Albania for economic development and jobs with 900 million euros

The full value of the investments that will be generated by the Partnership Strategy, signed between the World Bank and the Albanian government, is 900 million euros. It will be spread out over the period of 2023-2027. The four new projects that will be financed by the World Bank under this strategy range from the construction of bridges to competitive agriculture, online governance, and financing sustainable development policies, riportano i media locali.

"With these investments, with these four projects, the World Bank aims to improve the lives of Albanian citizens so that they don't see emigration as the only option. These projects are not without a strategy," says expert Mikel Qafa.

The strategy aims to promote employment and create decent jobs with the goal of utilizing human capital better, as well as building the country's capacities towards protecting against natural disasters.

"Investing in human capital is crucial so that they are not only competitive within the country, but also outside of it," emphasizes the expert.

The World Bank aims to attract new private investments in Albania, while also offering support through the International Finance Corporation, for improving the business climate, developing the stock exchange, and public-private partnerships.
