Serbian Bishop Teodosije Sibalic has considered the death of Archbishop Irinej a great pain for the Serbian people. In his reaction, he did not leave without mentioning Kosovo, saying that Irinej trusted to Serbs the issue of Kosovo to them.

"Like the Holy Synod of Bishops, our patriarch has always stressed that we must not give up our holy land, Jerusalem, our Prizren, the Patriarchate of Peja, Deçan, Gracanica, is our heart and soul. Yes, if we give up Kosovo and Metohija and leave these sacred lands, we will no longer exist, we will no longer be who our ancestors and saints were, and we will become something completely different, foreign to us and not special for us", said Bishop Teodosije.

The head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Irinej, has died of a coronavirus. Irinej was known for his political influence in Serbia and his hate speech against Albanians.

He was diagnosed with coronavirus on November 4th and has since been treated at a Belgrade military hospital.
