Incidents in the Tirana - Partizani derbi match, violent fans arrested

 The derby of the capital between Tirana and Partizani did not pass without incidents yesterday. A few hours after the end of the 24th week of the Albanian Super League, where the team of Tirana managed to triumph with a deep 5-1 score against Partizani, Tirana Police say they have detained two fans, while 9 others have been prosecuted for property destruction and for disturbing public peace.

"On 28.02.2020, at 19:00, at the Air Albania Stadium took place the football match between the teams of Tirana and Partizan. During the match, some benches were damaged and some fans entered the pitch during the match”, a police statement reads.

There were tensions between fans and the police even before the challenge began, as the two 'fiery' group of fans of Partizan and Tirana refused to hand over their ID cards.

Police say investigations are ongoing against other people who, according to it, have become part of unsportsmanlike acts by destroying property and disturbing public peace on the premises of Air Albania Stadium.
