Albanian lawmakers are paid 88.8% more than the national average
 
 Albania has a well-paid administration, especially at the high levels where salaries are significantly higher than the national average. Recent payroll statistics published by the Institute of Statistics of Albania (ISA) show that the group of lawmakers, senior civil servants, and chief executives stands at the top of the pay pyramid when analyzing payroll by profession.

“During the third quarter of 2019, the average gross monthly salary for a staff member in the profession of lawmakers, senior civil servants and executive directors is 88.8% higher than the national average, while in the Workers (elementary occupations) is 38.7% lower.

Armed Forces Occupation Salary increased by 7.9% during the third quarter of 2019, compared to the same quarter last year, while salaries of the Lawmakers, Senior Officials of state administration and executive directors has the smallest increase by 0.7% ”, estimates ISA.

According to the publication, the average gross monthly salary for a salaried employee during the third quarter of 2019, is Lek 51,870, up by 3.7% compared to the same quarter last year. “During the third quarter of 2019, the average monthly gross salary for an employee in the financial and insurance sector is 93.8% higher than the national average, while in the group Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries activity is 29.8% lower.

During the third quarter of 2019 the average gross wage for the arts, entertainment and recreation group activity has the greatest increase by 13.9%, compared to the same quarter of the last year, while construction is the only group to record a decrease of 4.7%,” reads INSTAT.
