Two tax inspectors arrested in Shkodra for corruption and one has been declared wanted
 
 Two tax inspectors have been arrested at the Directorate of Revenues in the Municipality of Shkodra and another has been declared wanted for the criminal offense of "Passive Corruption of Persons Who Exercise Public Functions".

In accordance with the Measure Plan for the Tourist Season 2019, from the Department for Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime, in D.V.P. Shkodër, within the Police Operation "Beneficiary" were exercised controls in several subjects in the Velipoja Beach.

As a result of these controls, there are evidenced violations made by the employees of the Shkodra municipality and entities regarding the declaration of income.

Because of these violations, these citizens have been detained:

P., 32, resident in Shkodra, an employee of Shkodra Municipality;

M., 63, resident in the village of Oblika, Shkodra, employees of Shkodra Municipality;

As well as has been declared wanted the citizen D. H., 32, resident in the neighborhood "Vojo Kushi", Shkodra.

These three citizens in cooperation with each other, being in the position of the enforcement inspector at the Directorate of Revenues in the Municipality of Shkodra, whereby falsifying the documents they have abused their duty and in return receiving bribes from at least one hotel, on the Velipoja beach. They have favored the latter by not declaring the real number of rooms of this hotel for the purpose of not paying the real tax to the Municipality of Shkodra.

Also, criminal proceedings were initiated for the owner of the hotel, citizen P. A., 36, resident in Velipojë, Shkodër, for the criminal offense "concealment of income".

The materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of Shkodra for the criminal offenses "Abuse of duty", "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions", "Falsifying documents" and "Concealment of incomes".
