World Open Latin Albania 2019, over 420 couples in Tirana Sports Palace

 Over 420 couples of athletes from all over the world participated on Saturday and Sunday at the World Sports Day, which was held for the first time in Albania, at the Sports Palace in Tirana.

In the grand final, which took place today, the international jury with representatives from Albania honored with the first prize at the World Open Latin Albania 2019, Ionut Alexandru Miculescu and Andra Pacurar from Romania, with second place Andrea Bolzoni and Michelle Maritan from Montenegro and third place Salvatore Bellavita and Milena Usanova from Albania.

While in the Worlds Championship Ten Dance they are honored with the first place Jordi Mayral Esteban and Eva Aguilera Llobera from Spain, at the second place Tomasz Kucharczyk and Roza Kucharcyzk from Poland, with the place Johann Lavigne and Christelle France from France.


In this championship participated over 420 couples from 33 countries incliding Japan, USA, Ucraine, England, Germany, etc. competed in Latin and standard disciplines.

This championship was held for the first time in Albania in co-operation with the World Federation of Sports Dance, WDSF, the Albanian Dance Federation, with President Linda Spaho and the artistic director Shpëtim Dajçi, the Albanian Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

The Albanian Dance Association (ADA) is a member of the International Dance Association, a member of the National Albanian Olympic Committee, a member of the Mediterranean Dance Federation and a member of the International Dance Organization. ADA has made it possible for sports dance to come to our country as a new sport, which has its beginnings with the establishment of ADA in 2002, which has founded the sport dancing based on standard dance rules and techniques and Latin approved by the World Sports Federation.

Sport dancer is already becoming an elite sport not only in terms of massivization, but also of qualitative results in national and international activities, which has gained more and more the attention to all age groups, especially young people.

Sports dancer has been extended in almost all of our country's districts, such as Tirana, Durrës, Fier, Vlora, Pogradec and so on.

ADA has developed a number of other activities and has participated in many international official events, where Albanian sportsmen have dignitously represented the Albanian national team and have deserved gold medals and other trophies.
