Germany invests € 70 thousand for archiving the negatives of Marubi phototeques

 The German Government gave a donaiton of 70,000 Euros for the protection of the cultural heritage of the National Museum of Photography MARUBI in Shkodra.

On Tuesday in Shkodra is inaugurated the project-support of the German state for the archiving of about 500,000 negatives. 

The work will continue with the provision of archival boxes and other materials. The materials were handed to the museum of photography by the Ambassador Susanne Schütz in the presence of the Minister of Culture, Mirela Kumbaro.

The project started with the arrival of about 7,000 82,000 boxes of conservation and special envelopes for storing negatives. For this contribution Kumbaro thanked the German Ambassador.

The National Museum of Photography MARUBI has a unique cultural treasure of Albania", said Ambassador Schütz.

Also present was the Foreign Minister Bushati, who stressed that the phototeque "Marubi" is an indicator of European identity of Albanians.

With the German project the National Museum of Photography MARUBI has applied a new system of conservation.
