Finland immediately took advantage of the situation. From the resulting free kick, Leo Walta produced a powerful strike to beat goalkeeper Alen Sherri, who had come on as a substitute, and level the score at 1-1.
Despite being reduced to ten men, Albania managed to hold Finland at bay for the remainder of the first half and went into the break with the score level.
The second half saw Finland increase the pressure, using their numerical advantage to control much of the game. Albania focused primarily on defending while looking for opportunities on the counterattack.
The home side eventually broke through in the 71st minute. Walta scored his second goal of the night with another impressive free-kick, completing Finland's comeback and putting the hosts 2-1 ahead.
Albania were unable to find a late equalizer and ultimately left Finland with no points.
The defeat sees Albania drop to second place in the group with six points, while Finland move to the top with seven points.
For Albania, the result will be particularly frustrating given the strong opening and early lead, with Berisha's dismissal ultimately changing the course of the match.
