Bird owners protested in front of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency building in Sofia due to the unclear measures against bird flu
According to the Agency's data, currently in Bulgaria there are 22 hotbeds of this disease.The Director of the Agency Damjan Iliev acknowledged that nearly one million birds have been killed since the beginning of the year due to bird flu, but the disease is still spreading.
He explained that farmers in the bird growing sector were paid as compensation in the amount of 4 million leva.
