Serbian historian Milan St. Protić: Presevo is important for Serbia and cannot be exchanged

Speaking of the possibility of exchanging northern Kosovo with the Presevo Valley, the Serbian historian Milan Protic said that this is an alternative that would not go Serbia's favor.

In an interview for the Serbian portal "Blic", Protic said that such an idea would be detrimental and at the same time weak for Serbia.

He even makes a comparison between the North Serbs and those of the 'Wild West' in America.

"The north of Kosovo is like a wild west in a civilized province, and that's the biggest problem," he said.

However, Potric adds that his vision for the final agreement between the two countries would be the acceptance of Kosovo's independence, which would secure Serbia's EU membership, and which would accordingly enable the movement of Serbs in the north to Serbia , and the South Albanians in Kosovo.

According to him, Serbia should choose between two or none.

"The South or the Valley is very important for Serbia because it can be crossed by the highway, and if Serbia loses the Vardar-Morava area, has also lost its powerful home," he said.

Yet, according to the Serbian historian, it is impossible for both of these regions to be part of Serbia.

We recall that Germany is now against border correction.

Meanwhile, by US officials is said that should be given room for achieving a lasting solution between Kosovo and Serbia.
