The "Jeronim de Rada" school in Tirana will be completely reconstructed. Its 1100 students will have better learning conditions in the classrooms, with warmth in Winter, new sports facilities and modern laboratories.

The Qatari Embassy has donated $ 1.35m to the Municipality of Tirana to make reality the reconstruction of the school building after an agreement signed between mayor Erion Veliaj and Ambassador Ali bin Hamad Al-Marri.

"This is a special project for both: Ambassador Al Marri, but also for us as the Municipality of Tirana, for the complete reconstruction and the addition of spaces in the school "Jeronim de Rada", one of the main 9-year schools of the capital. Our friends from Qatar have joined us in this project to completely transform the reality of this school. We had from years the need of intervention in this school: we will add a new gym, we will do all the inside and outside work, we will arrange all sports premises, to turn it into a school with one turn, with a new heating and cooling system, with ideal conditions for the education of children," said Mayor Veliaj.

Mayor Veliaj stressed also that the relations between Tirana and Doha will be further enhanced, to continue with other projects and investments for the development of the city.
