EU Commissioner, Mariya Gabriel: Kosovo has fulfilled the criteria for visa liberalization

 EU Commissioner for Economy and Digital Society, Mariya Gabriel, held today a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj, Minister of Innovation Besim Beqaj and Minister of Economic Development Valdrin Lluka.

After the meeting, EU Commissioner for Economy and Digital Society, Mariya Gabriel, said that Kosovo could be one of our key partners to use technology as an engine of the economy.

"I would like to emphasize immediately that our cooperation is not only in beautiful words, but it is in concrete thing. Now is the time to come up with very concrete dimensions. Reducing roaming for the region, we are working and we have clear ambitions for that. This people with such a young population and we should invest in our citizens. I want to continue to encourage you to continue on this path to see innovation as an opportunity," she said.

She has also spoken about visa liberalization for Kosovo.

"Kosovo has worked hard to gain visa liberalization and we can compliment you for all of this. It is important to continue with dialogue with all states to make the decision as soon as possible. All the criteria are met but it is not an easy process. You have this potential and it is important to continue. Visa liberalization is important for you and continue working within your own country," she said.
