Seven Albanians aged 22-26 were arrested during the early hours of Sunday morning by agents of the Igumenica Anti-Drugs Department at the time they were carrying about 125 kg of cannabis.
The operation was carried out at Dhrimica near the village of Filat, at the time when the 7 detainees loaded with cannabis bags were entering the green border of Albania, targeting the Greek territory.After being allowed to cross several kilometers, the Greek Anti-Drug forces intervened by arresting in flagrante the traffickers.
After preliminary investigations it turned out that one of the 24-year-old arrested had been declared wanted after he was convicted by a Greek court for charges of theft.
The 7 detainees will be sent for security measure in Court on Monday morning.
