After a two-month investigation, Shkodra's prosecution arrested some doctors and nurses yesterday after being accused of abuse of office. The former director of the Shkodra hospital together with doctors and pharmacists of this institution were arrested and declared wanted because in contrary with their duty they demanded from the Ministry of Health more than the hospital needs the necessary medical material for the hemodynamics cabinet.
According to the prosecutor's office, in violation to the law, they have applied for purchase-for the remaining period of 2016, ie September-December 2016, a large amount of 400 coronagraphy stents (catheter, coronary and surgical knee surgery kits etc.) out of any criteria, or the capacity that this hospital has.Among the doctors arrested is the cardiologist Luan Dragusha. Dragusha became known in the Albanian media last year after he chose to live the United States and return to serve to the citizens of Shkodra. There is a measure of imprisonment and detention for Dragusha.
