Albania to give money for newborns; although among states with highest infant deaths in Europe

The Albanian government launched today a new social policy that will boost population growth by distributing from January 2019 a bonus of Leks 400,000 for the first child, 800,000 for the second child and 1,200,000 for the third child.

Prime Minister Edi Rama launched today this new social policy for the newborn children in the Republic of Albania.

"In the 2000s I launched as Tirana Mayor, the baby check of 50 thousand Lek (old), which was very well received so far, but remained as much for many years and turned into a problem and on the mountain of debts inherited from the previous government, "Rama said.

According to him, a $ 5 million debt was inherited to babies who had not received the check they owed, "a debt that was repaid as well as over $ 700 million debts were repaid, without which we would have done a lot of work since the beginning of the mandate."
