7 Albanian Police Officers arrested for allowing illegal persons to pas the border


  Another police officer has been arrested today. The Internal Affairs and Complaints Service (CJEU) arrested a Border Police officer in Rinas Airport under suspicion of abuse of office and assistance for illegal border crossing.


According to official data, the suspicions about the implication of the female police officer B.Duda, with the task of controlling at the Border Police and Immigration Rinas Commissariat, were born after the capture of 7 Turkish citizens trying to cross the Albanian border to Montenegro, who claimed to have entering through Rinas in Albania.

The investigations carried out showed that these citizens were allowed to enter the territory illegally by police officer Duda, failing to complete the registration in the system.

Now she is charged with the criminal offenses "Abuse of duty" and "Provide help for illegal border crossing."

Investigations are ongoing to identify other people involved. The HPA guarantees that  will seriously monitor any denunciation in the media and citizens and urges them to call the 0800 90 90 free number for any illegalities they ascertain.

The police officers arrested yesterday

The Internal Affairs and Complaints Service (SHCBA) in Gjirokastra has arrested 6 Border Police Officers for passive corruption, abuse of office and assistance for illegal border crossing. Another citizen from Fier was also arrested, while another was declared wanted.

The SHCBA anounced that after a pro-active probe with special investigative methods, the SHCBA hit the illegal activity exercised by 6 police officers and some citizens at the border crossing between Albania and Greece in Kakavija.

By abusing the task, these police officers at different times have eased the illegal passage through the green line in exchange of reward for different citizens who have had problems with moving to the 'Schengen zone'.
