Two remote control mines sequestered in Lezha

Lezha police seized today 2 remote control mines during the "Scooter" coded police operation.

Police forces stopped near the Patok Overpass, about 10 kilometers from Lezha, the 36-year-old Fatjon Llanaj, a resident of Tirana, who was traveling to Lezha with a "Piaggo" motor without license plates. During the police found and confiscated two mines with remote control.

Lezha's police announced that the 36-year-old's arrest was made based on information received on the operating route that he was carrying hazardous explosive mines of remote control.

It is not clear whether the two remote-controlled mines would be used for any criminal activity by the 36-year-old arrested, or they were commissioned by other people.

Many criminal events that have occurred in Albania in recent years have been carried out with remote control mines, which enter illegally into the territory of Albania through Montenegro, or are produced domestically in Albania.

At the beginning of January, an explosion of a remote mine near 'Rrusi' market in Shkodra city left seven wounded, including a city businessman, who was also the target of the assassination.
