The courses in Albanian language in Marche region may soon become reality.

At the meeting with the President of this region, Luca Ceriscioli and the mayor of Ancona City, Valeria Mancinelli, the diaspora minister, Pandeli Majko advanced again the demand for enabling language courses in the school premises. Both senior officials considered the project very interesting, which, as they said, serves not only the Albanian community, but also the cultural enrichment and development of the region.

"It's a project that we can propose and advance. It is interesting not only for the third generation of Albanians, who have the opportunity to structurally learn the language of origin, but also for Italian children who want to know the Albanian language and culture. We will propose that the project be initially implemented in large cities such as Ancona, where the largest number of Albanians are concentrated. Once we see how will work, can be extend to other cities as well," said the president of the Marche.

He mentioned the region's strong ties with Albania, focusing in particular on the excellent trade relationship, as he called it. The senior official was accompanied by an Albanian advisor, a fact he mentioned at the beginning of the meeting. By maximally assessing this, Majko claimed that "this was exactly the profile of the Albanians we want".

Meanwhile, Ancona's Mayor mentioned the important role that the Albanian community plays in this city.

"As you know, the city of Ancona is already a piece of Albania, in the good sense of the word. Here, the Albanian community is probably the largest and most integrated. We are totally agreeable and available to assist in providing Albanian language courses in public schools," she said.
