About 4,400 Albanian asylum seekers deported to Albania by the EU in three months

Only in the first three months of 2018, about 4,500 Albanian citizens are deported from European Union countries.

It is the State Police that records the data, where only this morning another plane with 30 Albanians deported from France and Belgium arrived in Rinas Airport.

In a statement to the media, deputy General State Police Director Aida Hajnaj said that the police will continue implementing additional measures to prevent the asylum seeker phenomenon.

As a result of the co-operation and co-ordination with Frontex and homologous police, it has become possible, from January 1 to April 10 2018, to deport 4492 irregular Albanian citizens from EU countries.

Meanwhile, since August 2017, the implementation of the plan of measures to prevent this phenomenon is being followed, and in this context, at all border crossing points has not been allowed by the Albanian side the passage of all those citizens who does not meet the conditions to travel to the Schengen area.
