Greece celebrated the 197 th anniversary of its independence from the Ottoman Empire, also known as the Greek Revolution.

Numerous activities and celebrations were held all over the country, ranging from military parades to parties.

What came to mind about all these arrangements was the fact that in one of the parades in Crete, the Greek flag is holded by an Albanian.

He is called Valdrin Peçi and is from Tropoja, the son of a family of immigrants who live and work for years in the Hellenic state, as Flashnews.gr

According to the local tradition, the flag is kept only by those students who are excellent in results in school, leaving thus aside the annual controversy of extreme parties regarding the raising of the flag by the Albanians, especially by the Golden Dawn exponents.
