Croatia approves the purchase of 12 F- 16 fighter planes from Israel

 This is the largest and most expensive project that Croatia has set up for military equipment since its founding as a state.

Croatia's government approved today the proposal to accept Israel's bid for the purchase of 12 F-16 fighter planes that will serve the Croatian Army untill 2050.

The Croatian government approved the proposal of the expert team submitted after evaluating the five bids that came from some states, so the best offer for Croatia was offered offer by Israel, which offered a squad of 12 F- 16 Barack priced at 2.9 billion kunas (386 million euros).

This is the largest and most expensive project that Croatia has set up for military equipment since the founding of the state.

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic assessed this offer as qualitative because of several aspects.

It was further added that the F-16 fighter planes, which are the product of Locheed Martin from USA, will come to Croatia fully modernized and adapted to NATO standards and in the cost is included everything in order for these planes to be available to Croatian aviation for at least 25 years.

"The cost of buying these aircraft for the next 10 years will cost Croatia at most $ 50 million per year." the Croatian Prime Minister said.

The Israeli offer envisages a package of 12 aircraft, 10 with one seat and 2 with two seats, with equipment compliant with advanced NATO standards, with personal pilot fittings, F-16 with flight simulator, training pilots and technical staff in Israel.

The government will submit the proposal to the Croatian Parliament, which will review the proposal and decide on its admission.
