The author Jerichek in his book "The History of the Bulgarians" says that the names of the Thracian tribues respond to the roots of the Albanian language from which can be supposed, he suggests, that the Thracian language spoken by the Thracians which is completely unknown to us was a kin of today's Albanian.

The name of the great family of 'Besëve" is, according to Jerichek, very close to the Albanian word. Besa that means faith, trust, religion. And this etymology becomes even safer if we keep in mind that the Besas were priests, that is, religious in the Albanian clergy.

According to the Bulgarian historian Vasil Gyuzelev in his book "Albanians in the Eastern Balkans", Arbanasi is the first Albanian settlement in Bulgaria, but being Orthodox, were often recorded as part of Greek Churches.
