Four Albanian football players had rejected Albania's invitation in favor of Greece's national team, also changing their real name.

In the National Team of Greece have played several players of Albanian origin. The first to accept the invitation of the Greeks, ignoring Albania, was Sotiris Ninis in 2008.

After playing for U-19 and U-21, the midfielder decided to officially play with Greece's A national team.

The same thing did the midfielder from Tirana, Panagiotis (Gjergji) Kone, who in 2010 played for the first time with Greece's shirt.

In the recent years the goalkeeper of Albanian origin, Stefano Kapinos, chose the Hellenic representative.

The last to reject Albania for Greece is the midfielder Andrea Tato, from Himara.
