DPPI staff has performed over 100 meetings, going to business premises not only in Tirana, but also in different districts of Albania. This promotional activity resulted in a significant increase in brand registration applications, reaching a new record of 1161 brands," Lako told to Monitor.

The northern part of Albania has paid particular attention to the registration of Albanian products that are already known beyond the borders.

"It is worth mentioning that in 2017 we have increased applications for geographical indications of Albanian products mainly from the northern areas of Albania such as: Chestnut of Tropoja, Chestnut of Great Highland, Chestnut Honey of Tropoja, Chestnut Honey, Bilberry of Tropoja, Bilberry of Kukes", says Lako.
