Xhaçka meets NATO Commander in Afghanistan: By 2018 Albanian presence to increase by 60%

 Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka meets with NATO Commander in Afghanistan, John Nicholson.

At this meeting with Xhacca confirms the increase in the number of Albanian troops in Afghanistan. 

"In 2018 we increase by 60% our military presence in Kabul and Herat. A Special Forces contingent will soon be near the Afghan Armed Forces Battalion. For 15 years Albania contributed to the peace of NATO," said Xhaçka.

While the NATO Mission Commander in Afghanistan, John Nicholson, said NATO's relationship with Albania is very special.

"Qualitative Albanian officers are part of my advisory team at NATO Headquarters in Kabul," said Nicholson.

Minister Xhaçka's visit to Kabul comes on the eve of the Independence Day and the 105th anniversary of the creation of the Albanian Armed Forces.
