Exhibition of Albanian folk music instruments of XIX and XX in Tirana

 The exhibition of folk music instruments used in Albanian territory during XIX and XX centuries will be organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the National Historical Museum.

The exhibition will open on November 11 at 17.00 and will remaing so untill 12, 14, 15 november.

The collection features over 170 popular music instruments, showing through them the musical history of a nation. There are membranophone, idiophone, cordophones and aerophones. Many tools in this collection are rare and today no one use them anymore. All the tools are part of the private collection of Ermal Sela. He has been gathering and storing these tools for over seven years. During this time he has managed to be familiar with many artisans, who continue to keep alive the work of folk musical tools.

This exhibition is also accompanied by a catalog. In it are presented with photos and descriptions of all the tools that will be presented in the exhibition. In the catalog there are also photographs of artisans who continue to provied some of these musical instruments..
