Fear of nationalist incidents in Macedonia - of Albanian National players increased

The qualifying match valid for the 2018 World Cup, between Macedonia and Albania, scheduled for September 5, will be played in Strumica and not in the capital of Macedonia, Skopje.

The fears of incidents of nationalist nature during the journey through Macedonia by bus has forced the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) to take unprecedented measures for safe of the Albanian Rossoneri.

They went at around 12:00 toward Skopje and, like never before, along with traveled to Macedonia the forces of a private security company contracted by FSHF, who will accompany every player in the neighboring country.

"There is a convoy with the police force that accompanies us, but also a van with private security forces that will accompany the team both at the residence in Skopje and Strumica," told to SuperSport the Head of Public Relations Sector in FSHF, Gerti Carcani.

He confirmed at the same time that the team would spend the night at a mansion in Skopje, and during the following day, he would continue his bus trip to Strumica.

"The team will be accommodated in Skopje, will rest today and Monday morning will travel to Strumica.

It is anticipated a long journey, where the team will be accompanied all the time by police forces, first to the border point and then from the Macedonian forces to Skopje. Everything is calm, everything is normal," said Carcacani./Oculus News
