British FBI: Albanian gangs control cocaine traffic in London

The UK Agency for Combating Crime, NCA, in its latest report expresses concern that violent Albanian criminal groups have significantly increased their control over the British drug trafficking market and particularly that of cocaine one. According to the general deputy of this law enforcement agency, known as the British FBI, Mathew Horne, the Albanian cocaine trafficking groups pose a "serious threat".

According to him, these groups are characterized by the willingness to commit severe acts of violence in this business. "When talking about Albanian criminal groups, they really are a small group in number, but with a great impact. We have noticed the violence when it comes to exercising control over the drug trade from these groups.

So we are reacting specifically with our partners to eliminate them. There are some court cases against them currently in the British courts and we have seized large amounts of money from these groups, but it is a significant increase in the use of violence in addition to the drug trade which constitutes a major concern," said Horne.

The British Agency report states that drug trafficking benefits remain large, despite international efforts. London is considered as the "main center" of cocaine trafficking by Albanians, but they have been extended to other parts of Britain. According to the NCA's annual report," Serbian and Turkish criminal groups dominate the logistical aspect of cocaine shipping in large quantities, while Turkish and Pakistani groups dominate the heroin market in Britain."

The report also speaks of corruption among the staff of British ports and airports that facilitate traffickers importing drugs. NCA detectives destroy almost each month an Albanian cocaine criminal group who, despite the war on them, they continue to smuggle cocaine into the British market./Oculus News
